My original comment was that I didn't buy the argument that viruses occur less frequently on a Mac because of it's low market share in comparison to Windows. The comment does not address whether or not virus protection is a good thing on a Mac. If notoriety were the "ROI", would I not expect to gain a greater "bang" by affecting a system that is known for its virus resistance for the past 15 years? Or would I get a bigger bang by writing a virus for a platform which is notorious for being almost accidentally infected on a routine basis? You see, I don't believe that Macs are any less a target for such mischief because of low market share. We're not talking about a single Everest, Rushmore, or Matterhorn among the many "piles of rocks". There are enough Macs in the market that if such mischief were easily accomplished, we would in fact see a lot more virus activity than has occurred. John at Wood-n-Shavings, Inc.
