Beware! This will not work on any standard formatted iMac-drive, as they are all formatted HFS+, which is very different from what they call "Simple HFS".
It really annoys me that I haven't found a resizer like this that will work for HFS+ (or extended, as it is also called), but the concept of HFS+ is very different from HFS, so figure... But before you reformat your drive into HFS to be able to take advantage of this application, remember that it is wasting tons of space if your drive is larger than say 500 MB. On my old 1.2 GB Performa, I earned 25% more hard disk space going from HFS to HFS+ (only time in its 5 years of trusty service that I reformatted the drive, btw. :-)) Cheers, Kim On 01/09/02 17:37, "Alan Sargent" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > FWB's Hard Disk ToolKit has a "resize" function: > "The size of existing volumes of the Simple HFS type can be increased or > decreased without data loss." http://www.fwb.com/ > Despite that they tell you to backup your data first. -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
