With a G4 Power Mac this new, if you're OS X? Software update will
automatically update firmware as required. Just run it on a regular basis.
Firmware shouldn't be an issue as far as Apple products go. Peripherals and
add-ons can be a different story.

That's why I like to check version tracker regularly. Often it will be the
first place a new update from accessory vendors will show up.
