I've never heard of an iMac406, but I *am* regrettably familiar with CD Direct. The problem you are having probably stems from the fact that your friend created a "multi-session" CD instead of a regular one. If he forgot to "close" the disk (as CD Direct owners invariably do), there is NO machine other than his that will read it, Mac or PC (unless the CD Direct software is installed on the other machine as well). CD Direct is a perfect example of how bad PC software is. It works, but it creates score of new problems in the process. The Apple way of handling this (ie Disc Burner's method) is the *right* way to do this sort of thing (ie let people drag on and off files until they are happy and ready to burn). You might try downloading the free "Joliet" cd extension that enables your Mac to better read Joliet-format discs, but if that doesn't work your friend must be persuaded to write the CD he wants to give you as ONE session. _Chas_ Come to ...
