The 466 mhz Clamshells were being used by professionals shortly after
their introduction. A quick move away from the dorm room only marketing.
A graphite iBook was just featured on the Sopranos as Tony's daughter's
iBook. It sat conspicuously shut and unused on her dresser/desk.
These are beautiful machines, indeed. $750 is often on the low end of
the ebay resale value. I have a Key Lime and hope to run Jaguar and
Photoshop 7 and DreamWeaver MX on it.
Anyone out there think it can handle it?
It's a 10gb model, alas. It might be just as well to get an external
drive to share the files between my macs anyway.
The form factor of these books were a dream and it would be great if a
"classic" could be introduced with the same form...bigger screen...and
the subsequent improvements enjoyed by the newer iBooks.
Not likely in this market, eh?
Beautiful iBooks and if anyone is considering one, go for it. Sometimes
you'll get a year or more warranty left, depending on the original
owner. Mine has two years left.
