And as someone else noted the bloody things weigh 50 lb. I live in Tokyo - I use trains. I don't have the option of putting the thing on the car seat and driving off to the local repair shop -- unless I hire a taxi. >The chances of you >getting a less-than-great model are very slim, but it's naive to >pretend that this sort of thing never happens (or that Apple is any >more susceptible to it than anyone else). Well, I certainly respect your opinion, but I would think it "naive" to ignore the fact that a lot of people are having a problem with the eMac monitors. How many - well, it would be up to Apple to give us an accurate figure. Until they do (maybe they have - I don't know) we have the Internet effect. A problem that may be small, is magnified. Meanwhile, the bondi blue is still dead. I can't believe a firmware upgrade would completely disable a computer. If I had known there was a risk I would never have attempted it. Can someone tell me the difference between a motherboard, logic board, analog board? I suspect the motherboard and logic board are the same, but I want to make sure.
