Here's a funny one. I'm sitting working today and the
mail ap goes "boop." Sure enough, I have a new message.
It's from October 10 (today is the 17th here in the USA).
Hmm. I checked the headers and it looks like it hopped
through four SMTP systems in around 7 seconds, and it has
a delivery date of October 10.

I checked with my ISP and their log shows I downloaded
it on the 10th, but I didn't have it in my inbox before
that (I usually look at all new mail whenever I open
the application).

So, the puzzle: where was the message for seven days?
Apparently, somewhere on my Mac. I *think* this happened
once a couple weeks ago, too, but I wasn't so sure about
what happened at the time and figured it was me. This
time, I'm pretty sure it wasn't.

Anyone else have any experiences like this? Anyone
know how the mail app actually works?

        Regards,

Mike
