Yeah the eMac display forum on Apple's site is full of monitor
complaints. Outright failures (popping sound with a flash from
display or inside casing followed by monitor failure) to raster shift
(image moving around/up followed by lower 3rd of screen turning
black) to flickering (at high resolutions). I read through the first
dozen or so topics and there were 36 people with one of the above
problems. Some of them had it repaired (raster shift) just to have it
return again. Also, the flickering seems to be a widespread symptom
and it appears that Apple believes it not to be a problem and
therefore they're not fixing it. If your eMac is working fine then
cross your fingers and knock on wood that it stays that way. After
reading about all these problems I've got serious reservations about
getting one.
