Hi Donald. What OS are you using the floppy drive with? I have a VST (aka SmartDisk, I believe) USB Floppy Drive for my iMac. It was described thusly when I bought it (used): "It will read and write to both PC and Mac HD diskettes without additional software." I found that to be true; "plug and play" on OS 9.2.1. (I bought it second-hand, it did not come with any software, but I was told the software was available to be d/loaded if I thot I wanted or needed it. I didn't.) So, if yer using a 9 system, don't bother with s/w. If you are using OS X, maybe that's different. You may find this page helpful: http://www.smartdisk.co.uk/FAQs.asp#12 click on "USB Products". One of the FAQs on that page is this: "I try to install my USB Floppy Disk software but I get "This installation requires a system folder on the destination drive." Sound familiar? Hope some of this helps. Mary -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
