setting up a mailing list server is the easiest fool-proof way of doing this. many
ISP's will bounce any message that has over a few dozen email addresses, for fear of
being deemed by ORBS to be allowing spamming through their services.

a mailing list server would accept an email from you with an email address like
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and then send out 2000 individual emails to the recipients,
and use the proper formatting to ensure the To:, From:, and Reply-to: fields are
represented correctly.

the draw back is that such a server requires non-trivial setup.

If you already run your own mail server, have a corporate mail server, or an extremely
lenient ISP, you could just enable the BCC field in your mail application and type in
each address (or select them from your addressbook).
