Just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my questions. I successfully added 128 MB of ram ot my iMac in about 5 minutes this evening. That'll do me for now, and Office Max had it on rebate, so it ended up being $10. I think I'll forgo changing the speaker--I plugged in a set of external speakers I had and they sound much better anyway.
