Wouldn't this also apply to OS 9?  So, if you need to boot in OS 9 (like I
still need to) it too must be installed on that same 8 gig partition,
correct?

By the way - I ran into this problem when I ran the updater for 10.2.3 - It
apparently deleted the current System file (10.2.2) and installed a brand
new one - *outside* of the 8 gig limit (the drive is not partitioned).  When
I restarted, all I got was the grey apple screen - no rotating/spinning
thingee, no desktop.  It wouldn't do anything. I had to use my Norton
Utilities disk and run speed disk to defrag and move all the files to the
beginning of the drive, using the "format for CD-ROM Mastering" option to
get all the files moved to the beginning.  It was fine after that.
