FWIW: i have an Epson 740i connected simultaneously to my iMac 400 DV (OS9.1) via USB and a PPC 5200/75LC (OS 8.1). If I try to print from the iMac, it just sits there. No error message, nothing. The print job shows in the print monitor window, "status processing" but nothing. On the printer, the green on light is flashing. Now here is the kicker. I boot the 5200 and ask it to print (BTW, the Epson software is not meant for OS 8.1) but it prints fine. Now that the 5200 has found the printer, the iMac will and prints fine also. The printer is always left on, the 5200 isn't. iMac is but allowed to go to sleep.
Anyone have a guess why this is? Doug -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
