I haven't got a LOT of experience with TechTool Pro, but I thought I'd pass on my thoughts. The reason you don't see more discussion of TTP is that it is more expensive than DW, but has also had some minor issues with corruption (which I believe they've ironed out now). TTP's real value seems to be in its ability to diagnose HARDWARE problems, a factor that DW and Norton don't cover. A version of TTP is included free with your purchase of AppleCare, which is another reason why you don't hear people talking about the commercial version -- very few people buy it since it comes as part of AppleCare. IME, TTP isn't as good as DW for catching directory/file problems, but it's value as a hardware diagnoser (is that a word?) is something to consider. I will be at MacWorld in July and will give TTP 4 a thorough going over to see if it's up to what will be by then DiskWarrior 3. _Chas_ Come to ...
