Three little items:

1. Download and install a little freeware extension called "Mac Mach 
BEGONE!" which will hide the "plain icon" OS X files visible in OS 9. 
Works like a charm.

2. Forbid everyone from trashing any folders that they themselves did 
not create. You could even go so far as to lock said folders.

3. ALTERNATIVELY, you could *let* them trash OS X, or better yet remove 
it yourself from their drives. By the time they are ready for it, a new 
version will probably be out anyway.
