As nice as the G4 towers are over the iMacs (and particularly when compared to PC tower designs), there is something dreary about a tower that always makes me turn away from them, even though I am exactly the kind of high-end power user they are aimed at. The iMac is a thing of beauty. A G4 tower with it's spare processor, internal expansion room and faster subsystem is bound to be substantially faster for things like rendering 3D and burning DVDs, but for home use -- I'm still inclined to recommend an iMac. Oh, and I've *never* met anyone who bought a 17" iMac who wasn't totally thrilled with it. _Chas_ Come to ...
