UFS also does not support the Mac 'resource file'. that said, OS X 
makes the ol' Resource Fork extraneous, so it's not a huge loss... 
however, this means that files with resource forks (some stuffit 
archives, OS 9 applications, some data files) will be irretrievably 
mangled if copied to a UFS disk.

UFS partitions are also (IIRC) not readable by OS 9 -- if you boot into 
OS 9, the volume is not visible on the desktop. also, OS X's 
implementation of UFS is relatively ancient and hasn't been visibly 
updated since the code was carried over from NeXTStep.

Simply put... the only reason you should use UFS is if you know not 
only that you need it, but also why. There are almost no advantages to 
using UFS over HFS+, and a handful of disadvantages.
