No, the System itself doesn't jump partitions (unless you or some program moves it). However, OS X *does* add files to OS 9 when you launch Classic, regardless of partitioning, so, in a sort of round about way, they are blended in a sense. So far, all my files have stayed within the partition I put them in, with the exception of iTunes, which I have set to automatically copy files to its library. Even then, it only copies them. It doesn't remove them from the partition they were on originally. Copied between partitions, yes. Actually moved from one to another, no.
