It works nicely with my flat-panel iMac running 10.2.4 and only cost $199. It can be used as a standalone B&W or color copier with the computer off. It uses pigment-based inks which should be much longer lived than the usual dye-based inks. The printer and the scanner are both excellent as far as DPI or resolution goes.
