Thanks to all for the suggestions.  Actually, I'm using the Apple Pro Mouse,
not the puck - and I did like the puck BTW.

After reflecting on this for a time, I realized that the wrist problem
developed from playing computer games.  During game playing, I am
using the mouse constantly, no chance for the wrist to recover from fatigue.

I took Vics suggestion (thanks) and have switched my mouse to the left side.
I am also backing off the games for awhile.
