There is a piece of software that need to be run when (actually, before) installing a HARMONi card. You can find it here:
http://www.sonnettech.com/downloads/software/harmoni_install_v11.hqx Description: This installer software is required with the HARMONi G3 iMac processor/FireWire upgrade. It must be installed before the HARMONi hardware is installed. There is also a firmware update that enables the FireWire port on some of the first units shipped: http://www.sonnettech.com/downloads/software/harmoni_updater_v11.sit Description: Some HARMONi upgrades were shipped with installer software which doesn't enable the FireWire port on the HARMONi. This Sonnet firmware update enables the FireWire port on affected HARMONi-upgraded iMac computers. (Might this have an impact on stability issues as well?) Plus there a couple files that are needed for FireWire support, depending on OS version: http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/FireWire/FireWire_2.3.3.smi.bin http://kbase.info.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/kbase.woa/wa/query?type=id&val=58642&KCID=198485 Description: Mac OS 8.6 and Mac OS 9.0.x FireWire driver software for the HARMONi iMac processor/FireWire upgrade. The only CPU card replacement for the Rev A-D iMacs that didn't require some kind of enabling software (I think Sonnet's works the same as PowerLogix' - reads the ROM contents of the original CPU card and then stores them into an IC on the new CPU card) was the Newer card, which used recycled Apple CPU cards. Then again, the original poster might just want to call Sonnet Tech. and ask them? Regards, Bob Eye Dallas, TX -----Original Message----- Date: Thu, 27 Mar 2003 19:50:09 -0800 From: "Dennis B. That might help. HARMONi doesn't require anything like that. It is basically a daughtercard replacement. Dennis -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
