Hi all,
I was thinking of swapping out an 80 GB hard drive in a firewire external case, with the 10 GB internal hard drive that came with my iMac 400mz. The 80 GB drive is an IBM Deskstar 120 GXP. I compared the manufactures specifications and they are about the same in temperature and power requirements.
My question is, does anyone have any experience using the Deskstar in an iMac? Are there any special considerations I should make? Words of advice?
Thanks,
Ed
Hi, I have that 80GB IBM Deskstar 120 GXP in my rev. B iMac since a month and it works very well. In my rev.B I have to use the first 8 MB partition for the system. Otherwise the computer will not start. Tomas
