While there are disk utilities that do this, you can also use your OS 9 disc. Boot up from the OS 9 CD, open disk utility and reformat the drive selecting "zero" all. It will take quite awhile, (hours, depending on the size of the HD) but should do the job nicely. For the paranoid, you can do this multiple times. <G> At that point you can chose to install an OS, or just leave the drive formatted and blank.
