Apple doesn't manufacture CRT's.  They pick the best one out there that can
meet the order amount they have and set up a contract with a manufacturer.
It is not abnormal for a machine that is a few years old to lose clarity.
This can be corrected (in most circumstances) by an Apple Authorized Service
technician.
