On the consumer side I use the following: Diskwarrior (can't live without it) Disk First Aid (underrated utility) Tech Tool Pro/Drive 10 (not used a lot, but very useful sometimes for hardware diags). That and the preventative rebuilding of my desktop (9), fixing disk permissions, Mac Janitor, Not keeping too much junk on my desktop, zapping PRAM etc. I don't seem to have any computer problems at all. And whenever I get a new machine (like you just did) I wipe it clean and reinstall. Period. Kyle H.
