OWC is selling an Apple DVD-ROM/CD-ROM combo drive for 350-700MHz iMacs
for $60.  I think you'll have a hard time beating that price for even a
new CD-ROM drive in the 2.5" form factor.

Your other option would be to go with an external FireWire drive; but I
don't think that'll be any cheaper.
