The lady is 83 years old. She doesn't have space for another computer. Her flower Mac was given to her by her son-in-law. She really cannot afford the ink on any of those new computers. She also has no room for her 7600/200 which she is still using while the Apple Guys come to put a new modem in her bran new 12 inch iMac. I wished her son-in-law would have just gotten her an older iMac. But,... I really am looking for an adapter so she could possible use her Stylewriter 1200. Her husband has early stages of Ahlzeimers and they really cannot afford tons of money. Space is valuable, but that is an option. Her husband is over 90 years old.

She has been using the 7600 for about 3 years.

J,

Why waste an iMac for that task? I've got a 7200/120 acting as my
gateway/router here that runs without a hitch and doesn't get rebooted but
once every month and sometimes longer.

Also, you don't *need* two Ethernet cards to configure it as a broadband
router. I used to run a Graphite AirPort Base station as my broadband
router.

You simply plug all your Ethernet into a hub (or switch) and then you turn
the DHCP server function off on the router. Your router gets the IP from the
ISP via DHCP and then you statically assign your clients Ips and all is
well.

This isn't *better* than one with dual Ethernet ports, but if you're just
playing around with it, why bother?

Just my .02

I want to see how good a router/firewall I can make with this here iMac. I
