I trashed quicktimeprefs.plist but it's not reappearing, insted I get a new modified date on system prefs. Shall I trash system prefs >> maybe?

Solve your QT problem? I didn't mean to ignore your question about sys prefs. I don't readily know the answer, sorry.

No, QT is still not remebering connection speed!
