Enlightened and wise list members,

I got an iMac G3 this week FREE from non-Mac friends (I think they stole
it!), they just said it was broken so I thought I'd have a go at fixing it.
Unfortunately I dont know what the problem is so...

For reference I have a blueberry iMac G3 400DV, 64MB Ram (at the moment),
10GB HDD. I plug it all in and press the power button and all I get it a
static noise from inside (like the noise of a monitor switching on from
cold) - No Chime, no fan noise as this model is convection cooled, no lights
on the front panel. I tested the Battery and it is at a full and healthy 3.6
volts, I reset the CUDA switch but to no avail. I've tried just about
everything short of taking the logic board out and putting a different one
in (which I cant do! No money or spare ones lying around). Someone help me
please!

Location: Portsmouth, United Kingdom

Any help much appreciated,

Phil

P.S. I have 6 other Macs that I could test parts with if that helps!
