As maybe mentioned earlier,
want to record some 78 rpm discs on to compact disc.

So first step was to purchase iMic, as the 14" iBook has no specific
inputs for audio devices.
Microphone yes, nothing else.

Followed the instructions, and no audio appears.
under the instructions, and on griffentechnolog's website,
I should be able to see "iMic USB Audio"
and they say my Mac will now hear the device connected to the iMic,
Nothing, no sounds...

One thing I missed a couple times in using my iMic was to go to the speech preference pane and select the iMic as the input device. Yes, it takes two: Sound and Speech both have to be set to iMic.
