I recently switched her to Jaguar and upgraded to Netscape 7, which runs fine--and managed to import all bookmarks and, especially, emails, from One of the accounts. The second account has something wrong with it; it works ok in 9 but each time I try to import the emails they just disappear in transit from 9 to X.
SO, I had Classic boot with X and put an alias to the "old" Netscape on her X Desktop. Should have solved the problem, but now the "problem" profile account keeps insisting that the Mail Server Preferences haven't been filled in and promises it will do the job just as soon as that happens.
But I've filled in the Preferences for Mail Server correctly a dozen times and still the thing insists it needs me to do it again. Result is that she can't get her email for that account...which still works fine if we boot back into OS 9! I scrapped its preferences and substituted one that I had saved a week or so ago; it still doesn't work in X.
Any suggestions? thanks,
