I re-downloaded it again last night and was able to install it. It turns out that anything plugged into by USB (Belkin Express Bus) or directly into my imac, other than the keyboard, doesn't work or isn't recognized, i.e., my external disk drive, my epson 740 printer, and my digital camera. Any ideas?

Never figure it out. The updater downloaded fine, but then failed to complete the install. Sounds like perhaps the same problem. I'd like to know what causes this myself.
