This is known problem with the iKey, usually in combination with other 
USB devices. Apparently MacAlly noticed it from what I heard and they 
offered to sent a new revision as a replacement (US only IIRC).
I still have the same old iKey and the k/b is working fine since I 
trashed my UniMouse. The remedy to you problem is to disconnect the USB 
cable if it aint working at boot and reconnect it, one out of twenty 
times you have to do it twice before it works.
A friend of mine borrowed this k/b and the UniMouse lately and I went 
there to install an USB ADSL modem. The iMac locked up all USB devices 
every boot and reboot...
