My rev B 233 8.6 regularly freezes up on certain sites, like downloading from CNET, and accessing my own account at Earthlink. I have both IE 5.0 and 5.1.7 installed. I suspect there is an answer. I was hoping someone can still remember the OS 8.6 days. (I don't want to upgraded to 9 until I figure out what is wrong.)
I'd guess that those web sites are using a web technology (Java most likely) that is too advanced for your 8.6 system to understand. Solution: upgrade to 9.1 or higher.
I'd recommend also that you switch to Mozilla or Netscape (or even iCab) for OS 9. Faster. Works better.
