I live in a rural area where broadband isn't available so I only have dial up capability. I also have two iMacs connected by a crossover cable using Appletalk. One iMac is my Bondi running 9.1 and the other is my FP G4 running 10.3. The G4 iMac replaced a SuperMac C500 that also ran 9.1.

Here is the problem: When I had the two 9.1 machines connected, I could be connected to the other 9.1 machine AND still connect to the internet on the local machine. However, since I started using Mac OS 10 on the G4 iMac, I've lost that capability. I have to set up a separate "Location" for the dial up and one to connect to the Bondi iMac (OS 9). If I'm connected to the internet, and want something copied to/from the Bondi, I have to change locations and that kills the internet connection. I've looked into TCP/IP but ran into the fact that the Bondi iMac can only have one IP address, so if I set up a TCP/IP network, the Bondi would now be the one that couldn't connect to the internet while connected to the G4 iMac.

Any way to be able to connect to the internet AND to the Bondi iMac at the same time from OS 10?
