Hi,

Is anybody here running Photoshop 7 on the 17" flat panel iMacs ? I am
seriously considering getting one of the newer 20" models when they come out
but just want to get an idea of how fast/well they run PS 7.

I run it on a 15" G4/800 iMac (old USB 1.1/GeForce2 MX board) and it runs fine, totally usable. It would of course benefit from the clout of a G5, but the faster CPU and Bus and better Graphics Card (yes it *does* make a difference!) will make it pretty swift on a G4 iMac. Get a 20" though, you need all the screen space you can get when using PS. I feel a bit crippled at times working in 800x600. It's certainly a big improvement over any G3 as it has Altivec to weigh in on heavy calculations. If you can afford a G5 do it though - well worth it IMHO, especially now the prices have dropped a bit.
