You didn't break USB functionality, but I'll wager that the Palm conduit you need is now in your "Previous Systems" folder instead of your active user folder. Or maybe it just (finally) needed an update. Have you downloaded and installed the latest Palm Conduit?
Good suggestions, but the truth is somewhat odder than that. I messed around for a while trying the various arcane switches offered in the Palm desktop program. Still no joy. I decided to see if it worked on *my* account. Suprise! It did. I then logged back in as my wife . . . and it worked.
I *hate* problems like this, because they always come back when I'm out of town. I tried to get the newest Palm desktop, but apparently Palm is pretty hosed up--they claim they'll send you "email instructions for downloading Desktop 4.1" but nothing ever happens.
Sell all shares Palm Inc...
