Before it's too late and I get stuck in here and can't get out...
We have 3 computers (6220 (OS 8.5), iMac DV SE (OS 9.1), and eMac (OS X)), 2
printers, a scanner and a bunch of other stuff in a 10x10 room. I would like
to get all this down to 2 computers and an "all-in-one".

The all-in-one would get rid of one printer and the scanner easily. The
problem is the 6220. I keep it only because it can answer the phone and
differentiate between voice and fax calls and then either take a message or
spit out a fax (only one phone line and no chance of another). It uses the
Epson 740 serial port while the iMac uses the USB port and while it's not
really "sharing" it works great.

Is there an all-in-one that has a built-in modem with voice capability?
Alternatively, can I hook up the Global Village Teleport 33.6 Speakerphone
modem now running on the 6220 to either the iMac or eMac and use as the
default modem? Speed is not an issue as the phone lines support 26400 at
best (and cable or DSL are not available). I tried using the GV modem with
my iMac - used my Palm serial to USB adapter but the script wouldn't show up
in the modem list.

Going back to the all-in-one even without modem/voice capability - what
would be a good choice? Any recommendations? Is there a good one with a
transparency adapter?

Thanks.
Kate
