From: Kim Gammelgaard <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I don't remember if it was that easy in 10.2.x, but 10.3.x is really beautiful sometimes :-)
Behold one of the hidden secrets of OS X: PC Truetype fonts do not need to be converted (they won't show up in Classic font menus of course).
Before some of you run off and download a couple of gigs of free TT PC typefaces, bear in mind one thing:
The OVERWHELMING majority of such fonts are total garbage. Bad kerning, no litigures, no special characters -- very often no lowercase, or numbers! Many are cheap knock-offs of "real" fonts that lack the careful craftsmanship and subtle styling.
They can be darn handy when a client wants to match a particular font they don't own, or you just need to whip out something stylised, or you're trying to output something that matches previous PC output -- but PC TT fonts are one of the BIG reasons why PCs will never dominate the print industry. Lesson to be learned there.
