I'm the ONLY person that uses this machine
and I'm getting tired of being told that I'm not allowed to do
something. I'm about to set it up so that it is logged in as "root"
permanently.

This is a really, really, really, really, really, really, really, REALLY bad idea.

The ONLY time the system will tell you you are not allowed to do something is when you are about to do something that will DAMAGE THE SYSTEM or DISABLE APPLICATIONS. I urge you to rethink this idea, or at the very least keep DAILY backups, because I feel quite confident you will need them.
