That sounds roughly right, just from my own feel of things. Took me a lot longer than I expected to download that update last weekend myself, over my airport link.
Note that if she uses Safari 1.2, at least if the download is interrupted (for example if someone in the house picks up an extension line), she may resume it because the new Safari features "resumable downloading". If her new iMac doesn't have Safari 1.2 already on it, that would be my FIRST download. :-)
