I need some advise before I make a final decision. My iMac is a G3/233 (blueberry) that I have enjoyed using for many years. I am currently running OS 9.2. I had installed OS X a few years ago but quickly abandoned it because this is just not the machine for it. About 2 years ago I was given a used Iomega ZIP 650 4x4x6 external CDR/w burner. It was a fussy relationship to say the least however I was able to successfully use it to burn many CDs using Toast and the iTunes CD burner feature. About three months ago the burner suffered a mechanical failure and now resides at the landfill.
My iMac really suits my needs quite well so I have resisted buying a new machine but really miss being able to burn CDs. There are quite a few "new in box " and used Iomega ZIP 650 4x4x6 external CDRw burners on ebay. I have thought about buying one but am reminded of the often disfunctional relationship the burner had with the iMac, Toast, and iTunes.
Is there another external USB cdr/w burner that would be compatible with my G3/233 iMac that I should search for instead of the Iomega ZIP 650 4x4x6 external CDR/w. Also is the a reputable vendor that I could buy one from other than e-bay?
Thanks
