I don't think there is anything special in the Airport software that would facilitate file or folder syncing. Similarly, I can't think of anything in the basic OS that would do the trick.

I am a dot-Mac member, and so long as I can always recall WHICH folder is the more current, it would make sense for me to upload the more current folder to my iDisc and then download it to the other machine when I am home. But even this is not true "syncing" because if you had file A on one computer that was more current than file A on the other computer, but File B on the first computer was NOT more current than File B on the second computer, just overwriting the whole folder won't work going either way.

I think there are third party applications that might help, or at least there were under the older OS's, but not sure about OS X.

Maybe others have ideas. I somehow missed this the first time through when your later message on a different subject jogged me to look back.

Good luck.

Hi,
I am going to buy an iBook sometime in the near future and something just occurred to me. My main machine is my iMac 17", BUT i will be using the iBook for A level studies and future studies to come. So I was wondering if there was a way when then I come home, the iBook and iMac can synchronise with each-other, the iMac can see, "ahh, that file over there is newer, it has obviously had changes made, lets copy it over and replace the old one."

I've had a look at iSync but I can't see a file/folder sync function. I have an 802.11g wireless LAN going here, so I will be having an Airport Extreme card installed. Is there an additional software package with airport that might have what i need?

Thanks,
Dan
