I have read three rumors recently that Apple will soon upgrade both the specs and the form factor of the iMac, perhaps within a couple of months. One of the articles said that the new version will use a G5 (though to me, this seems somewhat unlikely at this stage). Whether they move it to the G5 or not, they are definitely working on a big form factor upgrade, though just what will change is not known. Either way, whenever they release the upgrade, older models will become much cheaper. Unfortunately, I can only find one of the links for these articles, and it is not the one that says it will upgrade to the G5. Not very likely, Jay. The Powerbook will get a G5 first. The newest processors and other hardware related upgrades come out in the Professional lines first and then the Consumer lines. It is normally Desktop Mac, Powerbook, iMac/eMac, iBook. I'm hoping that the G5 Powerbook will be announced at the WWDC in late June. Then I'll get a G4 Powerbook at a good discount. Of course they may just announce Mac OS 10.4.
