I have a PC network (peer to peer) at my office and would like to put my eMac and my 6200 on the network, but the network does not seem to recognize them.

Anyone out there done this before and can give me some help?
The best place to start is with Apple KB (knowledge base). There's a whole section on connectivity. Begin there.

If the answer is long and involved, please email me privately. (Save the bandwidth).
It can. It all depends on the OS versions on each Mac and PC. The steps involved in setting each machine up so it can see the others is different from OS version to OS.

It can be frustrating setting up a LAN with a lot of varying machines and operating systems, however, in almost every case it can be done. Just take some tweaking and a lot of patience. <G> Once you get it set up it will work fine.

You'll also find a whole separate discussion forum on networking with OS X in the Apple Discussions. A lot of helpful information and links there.

http://www.apple.com/support/ will get you to both the KB and the discussions forums.

Good luck,

Jack Russell
