My System Specs: iMac DV 400, 384 MB RAM, System 9.1

I have an AW file (actually several files) with jpeg images that I converted
to RTF so I could open it with Word on a Windoze box. Every time I open the
RTF file in any version of Word (Word 6, 97, 2000 and XP) on the Windoze
box, the text layout is fine, but all of the images are cropped, resized, or
some other anomaly. So far it's been a slight inconvience, since I can
bring the jpegs along with the "RTF file" and reinsert them into the
document once it's open in Word. After I spend the time to reinsert the
jpegs into the Word document and save it as RTF, the new RTF files don't
open properly in AW, either. In addition, if I have a document with 20 (or
more) images, I don't want to have to waste the time reformatting and
reinserting all the jpegs :-(

Is the problem with AW? Isn't RTF supposed to be a "universal" format? I
blame M$, but maybe there is a problem with the internal AW RTF converter.
I also have Word 5.1a for the Mac installed and it seems to work better for
converting to RTF files for use with Windoze versions of Word. But most
Word 5.1a files that I convert to RTF don't open properly in AW5, either.

I have the latest version of MacLink Plus and also AW 6, but I'm waiting
unitl I get the time upgrade to System X before I install them.

Any comments?

Chris
