Using SBC Dial Up service, SBC support instructed me that my in-laws
will have to first start Remote Access then connect, then start the
mail (OE 5) or browser (IE 5). Is there a way short of writing an Apple
Script to allow them to just start either program and have it connect
to the internet, and log off when they quit the browser and mail.
In Remote Access control panel, click Options and the Protocol tab. There's
a checkbox to connect automatically when launching TCP/IP applications.
I don't know of a way to disconnect automatically on quit, though. The
easiest way is probably to use the control strip's Remote Access module.
Miche.
You could also have it disconnect after a short period of inactivity, just in case they forget.
