Hello all,
On an iMac DV while using iMovie 2.0.3 (OS 9) we were working on a project when
another application froze and we had to restart. Just before the freeze, the
open iMovie project had been saved. After the restart, when I try to open the
project I get the message, "Unreadable Project" or something like that. No
matter what options are latter chosen (trash files vs. leave them alone, etc.),
iMovie always quits due to some error before it is possible to start editing
again. Also, all of the clips appear all snowy when it is attempted to be
opened.
To try to solve this I have:
1) Trashed finder, system, and imovie prefs
2) reinstalled imovie
3) manually looked for corruption in the project text file using a text editor
4) tried to import all the media clips in to a new project (it works, but we
loose ALL editing) this just proves that imovie is okay
5) found on the net via google other people have the same problem and too few
cures
Some things i have noticed:
1)imovie creates some 16k media files ("dv clips") in the media folder with
corrupt and random characters
2) the individual Dv clips play fine in quicktime player (but they are all
unedited, that is, unspliced)
Any Ideas????
thanks very much,
Patrick
