Try cloning the MAC address of the device that was originally hooked to the modem.

I recently purchased an Asante wireless router to go on my 1ghz eMac. (FR1004AL)

I have followed the instructions carefully, and even took the advice from some online gurus and downloaded a new firmware version.

However, this sucker does NOT want to recognize my cable modem and make a connection.

I have tried it with DCHP, a static IP, using a host name, etc.

Nothing seems to let it work, and it even keeps my eMac (which is hard wired into it) from getting a connection.

Any suggestions from anyone out there?

Is this a problems solely with my ISP? (Earthlink, through Charter cable)
