Good morning Aaron,
Yes, you can replace the hard drive. I just replaced mine with a 20 gig HD. You'll be fine.

I have been thinking about upgrading my daughter's Rev1 iMac in the way of ram and a new hard drive. Is it possible to replace the hard drive or will I be stuck with just 4gb?
Aaron, just remember to partition the new hard drive so that the first partition is 8 GB or less. That is where the OS must be installed on those iMac models.
